ERS is proud to employ OCT (optical coherence tomography) imaging of the macula (centre of the retina), optic nerve and anterior segment (front of the eye). Our doctors utilise the Cirrus HD-OCT, Spectralis OCT and RT-Vue OCT to evaluate the different parts of the eye. The OCT machines provide exquisite high definition images of the different structures, allowing clear visualisation of critical details of histology and pathology at a glance.
The OCT scans are performed quickly and efficiently. In addition, in-built hardware and software facilitate automated alignment and high patient through-put. All these innovations mean increased comfort and convenience for patients.
These OCT capabilities enable our doctors to diagnose diseases like macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and corneal disease, as well as accurately monitor response to treatment. This ensures that our patients can receive the appropriate treatment for their eye disease.
